Speaker: Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, eminent and distinguished scholar, teacher and philosopher, leader and lifelong campaigner for Gandhian principles, especially that of non-violence

The talk first explores the spiritual journey of Siddharth to Buddhahood, the three turnings of the wheel of Dharma, concept of Bodhisatva and how the Buddha's Dharma impacted the thinkers and laity of his time. The talk will then focus on the evolution of Indian/Hindu philosophy, how Buddhism deviated from traditional Hinduism and in turn impacted its future evolution. And conclude with some remarks on the contemporary vitality of Hinduism and how it has responded to contemporary scientific knowledge and predicaments
