Meena (20 min; dvd; English)

Director: Lucy Liu

Meena is the true story of a young girl who was rescued from a life of sexual slavery in Bihar. Based on a chapter from the book “Half the Sky” by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, Meena Haseen was eight years old when she was kidnapped by her uncle and sold to a brothel. The film focuses on the life of this brave woman and how she rescued her daughter (also forced into prostitution) from the same brothel
