New India meets a New Nigeria: Creating an Indo-African Growth Story
Speaker: H.E. Mr. Chris Sunday Eze, High Commissioner of Nigeria to India

Chair: Shri Amar Singh, Member, National Security Advisory Board and former Secretary (Economic Relations), Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India

Nigeria has been at the heart of India’s outreach to Africa for decades. As Africa’s most populous country, it has always been among India’s primary economic partners and diplomatic friends in the continent. The economic relationship in the past revolved around oil supplies but today, both economies have much more to offer each other. India’s accomplishments in software and robust startup ecosystem are well-known. Less known is that Nigeria, for example, is home to Africa’s most valuable tech ecosystem.

The High Commissioner will discuss the story of India-Nigeria relations, the nature of and extent of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and the significance of Nigeria to Africa and the world at large
