Speaker: Ambassador Gautam Mukhopadhaya who will share some of his unusual discoveries from Asia. The audio and visual presentation will look at traditional classical, religious, folk, and fusion music from places like Syria, Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Japan and Korea

 

Ambassador Gautam Mukhopadhaya has served in various capacities in Mexico, France, and New York, and as Ambassador of India in Syria, Afghanistan and Myanmar. In the course of his life and career, he developed a taste for progressive rock and jazz, Hindustani classical and regional music, and later, South American, some strains of Western classical and religious, African, Arab, Ottoman, Iranian, and South East and East Asian music
