Speaker: H.E. Dr. Ron Malka, Ambassador of Israel

Chair: Ms Indrani bagchi, Senior Diplomatic Editor, The Times of India

India-Israel relations have been mainly built on defence, technology, tourism and agriculture. Israel is today one of the three major sources of defence equipment for India and a key partner in cybersecurity and counter terrorism. There is also a burgeoning science and technology bond between the two countries in software and startups in recent years.

At present Israel is also a world leader in innovation and a superpower in water management. This makes it a perfect partner for India which is rapidly digitizing its economy and has also declared “water for all” as a national priority. Whether it is desalination, recycling or waste management, Israel is a recognized global leader in the domain.

Drawing from the above, the Israeli Ambassador, Dr. Ron Malka will discuss how the two countries can move the relationship to the next level to bring them closer through working in the realm of financial markets and water
