Speaker: Dr. Ken Buetow, Professor, School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Director of the Computational Sciences and Informatics Program, Complex Adaptive Systems, Arizona State University; Associate Director, Center for Evolution and Medicine; and Director, Bioinformatics and Data Management, National Biomarker Development Alliance. A human genetics and genomics researcher who leverages Data Science to understand complex traits such as cancer, liver disease and obesity, Dr. Buetow uses novel “Big Data” infrastructure to manage large biomedical data sets and to uncover the underlying information architecture traits with the goal of finding novel way to prevent and treat diseases
