The civil war in Ethiopia, a land-locked country in the Horn of Africa, which began in November 2020, with a population of 115 million, is still raging. There is no visible sign of a cease-fire, and the grim total has crossed ten thousand. The earlier civil war that raged from 1974 to1991 totaled up a horrendous toll of 1.6 million deaths.

The panelists will discuss the origins and the likely trajectory of this civil war, already marked by culpable violations of accepted international laws and norms.
