Da Vinci’s scientific researches were hardly known or understood beyond his immediate circle, and it was not until the 19th and 20th centuries that the thousands of pages of his notebooks were properly examined in the field of optics, geology, botany, hydrodynamics and human anatomy. The talk will look at  how Leonardo da Vinci’s initial observation in 1508 about cirrhotic liver laid down the foundation towards the development of new medicines
