Amrit Srinivasan is a former professor of sociology/social anthropology at IIT Delhi, whose early work on the devadasis and the politics of the dance at Cambridge University has been extended by her recently to cover woman’s' performance in general, under the aegis of The Ministry of Culture's, Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research Award (2015-2017)
