Nestling in the lap of the Langtang Himal, the Langtang valley in Nepal had become increasingly popular with trekkers. Easily accessible from Kathmandu, a day’s drive and a four day walk along the Langtang river brought one to touching distance of glaciers and peaks on the Tibetan border. The valley was devastated by the earthquake of April 25 and hundreds of local villagers and trekkers buried under avalanches and mudslides

Deb Mukharji was on his way to Langtang when the quake struck. His illustrated presentation recalls the beauty of the valley seen on his first visit in 2000
