Theme: 'Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye' became a signature song of the Indian freedom struggle. It reflected the yearning of the anti colonial struggle, the yearning to fashion a new self, both individual and collective. But this search did not end with the end of colonial rule. The question who is a vaishnva jan can be treated as a religious question but it is also a civic quest. What makes a vaishnva jan, what is the struggle an individual or a society will have to wage to attain it ?

Speakers:  Prof Ashis Nandy, Social Theorist, Critic and Former Director, CSDS ; Shri Ashok Vajpeyi, Former Chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi and Poet ; Prof Neera Chandhoke, Former Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Delhi University ; Shri Kumar Prashant, Chairman, Gandhi Peace Foundation ;  Prof Apoorvanand, Professor, Department of Hindi, Faculty of Arts, Delhi University
