Heidelberg Lecture to be delivered by Prof. Dr. Marc-Philippe Weller, Director, Law Faculty and Vice President, Heidelberg University, Germany

Environment Social Governance (ESG) is becoming one of the most important topics for businesses in the 21st century. Large corporations play a decisive role in the battle against the impacts of climate change and the respect of human rights in the supply chains. The talk will focus on the three pillars of ESG – present a comparative overview about pending climate change litigation against large companies in Europe (environment); examine the duties of care of European companies in cross-border supply chains (social); and the necessity for more diversity on corporate boards will be discussed (governance).
