The film reveals the dire state of Delhi's Yamuna River, once pristine and now on the brink of ecological collapse. A documentary crew tries to make sense of the situation by talking to Shyam, a boatman who relies on the river for his livelihood. Through expert interviews and vox-pop segments, the film unravels historical neglect and contemporary challenges, exposing stakeholders' indifference towards the Yamuna

An exhibition of photographs from Rabindranath Tagore’s trip to China and cultural contact between India and China. The exhibition attempts to look at some of the deep literary, artistic, political and spiritual exchange that took place in the 1920s. And to examine his ideas of peace and unity in Pan Asia

This year marks 100 years since Rabindranath Tagore’s historic trip to China in 1924. This visit is of great historical significance and is a landmark in India-China relations. Tagore reached China on April 12, 1924 on the invitation of the Beijing Lecture Association and was received warmly by Liang Qichao, one of China’s foremost intellectuals of the time, as well as his young hosts and interpreters, Lin Huiyin and Xu Zhimo. He was received there as a messenger of peace and a prophet for the future. As the world undergoes profound changes and intense turmoil, the vision of Rabindranath Tagore takes on a renewed importance today. For the building of a just and peaceful future, we look to Tagore and his idea of a united Pan-Asia. It is imperative that the people of Asia know and understand each other, and particularly the people of India and China, as the two largest civilizations in Asia.

The artists will present a concert of opera arias and the most famous duets taken from Maestro Puccini’s operatic repertoire such as the love duet from the from the first act of La Bohème, the soprano’s aria “Un bel di vedi” from Madam Butterfly among others

Traditional Folk Songs from Bihar/Uttar Pradesh
Kajri and other Bhojpuri folk songs presented by Dr. Revati Sakalkar from Varanasi

Kajri is a folk song and dance presented by women from Uttar Pradesh and the adjacent regions during the rainy season. A Hindustani classical form, the lyrics of the songs often describe the longing of the maiden for her lover as the black monsoon cloud arrives in the summer skies

Ruchika Theatre’s production of Maxim Gorky’s classic play
Directed by Feisal Alkazi

First premiered in 1902 under the direction of Konstantin Stanislavski, and where he developed ‘Method Acting’, the play is a hallmark of Russian social realism. The play depicts a group of impoverished Russians living in a shelter near the Volga. Considered a theatre classic, new productions of the play in every conceivable language of the world are performed regularly.
