12 November - the day Gandhiji made his first and only live broadcast on All India Radio is commemorated as Public Service Broadcasting Day. On this day in 1947 Gandhiji addressed more than 2 lakh refugees at the Kurukshetra Camp from Broadcasting House, New Delhi. Gandhiji held no public office or position in Government and it was truly a public service broadcast

Maqbool Fida Husain painted the Raj series at a critical juncture in India’s postcolonial history in the mid-1980s. Many of the promises of secularism, proudly declared at the time of Independence, were under threat. It was against this background that Husain turned for inspiration to his childhood and youth, which he had spent in various princely states, such as Indore and Baroda, in the waning days of British colonial rule that were also witness to the rising tide of Indian nationalism

These folk songs very often carry notes which are very similar to Hindustani Ragas. This presentation will highlight the contributions of such folk elements which often blend into Hindustani classical music 
 
Sarita Pathak Yajurvedi belongs to Rampur Sadarang tradition. Married into the illustrious family of Acharya K.C.D Brahaspati,  Sarita has been a disciple of Pt. Shanker Nath Patil and Vidushi Sulochna Brahaspati

The Young Animators International Film Festival (YAIFF) is a place where children and young people, professionals and animation lovers will be able to exchange ideas and experiences and make new friends beyond their State and Country.
The festival will have several workshops on various aspects of animation film-making by experts and professionals working specifically with children.
 
The festival presents a collection of animation films made by children from India and from around the world including works presented by AAA Atelier de Cin?ma d’ Animation d’Annecy et de Haute-Savoie, France; Golden Snail Children’s International Film Festival, Serbia; Tehzeeb Khurana, Toon Club, Mumbai; Radostina Nykova, Bulgaria; Marija Vuli?, Kulturni Centar, Jagodina, Serbia; Road Safety films presented by Nitin Donde; and Gary Schwartz, USA
 
On 11 November 2016 from 10:00 to 20:00 at India Habitat Centre, there will be a children’s workshop on story writing; cartoon making, stop motion animation workshop; and screening of films.
 
The vision of YAIFF is to unite the children of the world through the creative art of animation film making by awarding work that promotes global peace and harmony.
 
The festival has been conceptualised and presented by Nitin Donde
