Rambuai focuses attention on a period in the nation’s history that has rarely figured in contemporary discourse, official reports, civil society dialogues or even scholarly debates. The film looks not just at the years of conflict and disturbances in this beautiful pocket of India, but also at the transition in mindsets that has enabled peaceful change to endure, the resolve that drove the Indian State, and the challenges that remain

Exhibition I Talks I Films

Organised in collaboration with Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, the exhibition is curated on the premise that borders are man-made delineations, based on nothing but arbitrary decisions that nevertheless exert a massive, sometimes gruesome impact on individuals. The exhibition includes works by artists across international borders and will be on view at the IIC, Bikaner House and Vadehra Art Gallery simultaneously

On view at the IIC are works by André Lüzen, Amar Kanwar, Eva Leitolf, Kimsooja and Roman Signer

SPIRITUALITY AND THE OTHER DIMENSION

Curated by Rajiv Mehrotra

22nd Century (60 mins; 2007; dvd; English)
A film written by Michael Chorost

What is the world going to be like 30 years from now? Will human life spans increase to 250 years or more? Will personal computers be smarter than the humans who use them? Will machines shrink to a micro-level so small that they can make repairs inside a human cell? 22nd Century is about dramatic changes being made by scientific and technological research conducted in laboratories across the globe today.

The pilot episode, World Wide Mind, is about a new theory that suggests in the coming decades all our brains will be wired together just as computers were wired together via the World Wide Web during the 1990s
