This exhibition brings into focus Adivasi communities of eastern and central India, the ways in which these communities have been stereotyped, and how Adivasi voices have critiqued such representations. On display are the shifting images of ‘tribes’ in nineteenth-century colonial representations through lithographs; photographs of ‘aboriginal tribes’; ethnographic and anthropological texts of the colonial period; illustrations and images of objects and photographs; a philatelic archive of postage stamps, special covers and postal stationery; and excerpts from unpublished articles, diaries, poems and songs, and photographs. These unpack an alternative history of struggle of the Adivasi for dignity, justice, and human rights

The film is based on Sri Aurobindo’s arrest for conspiracy on 5th May 1908 and the one full year that he spent in Alipore jail while the British government, in a protracted court-trial (which came to be known as the “Alipore Bomb Case”), tried to implicate him in various revolutionary activities. He was acquitted and released on 6 May 1909. The film has been shot on location in Alipore Jail

‘Doi Moi’ (economic renovation) was proclaimed by the Govt. of Vietnam in 1986 and implemented in earnest from 1989. The talk will focus on Vietnam’s economic and political transformation in one generation since ‘Doi Moi’ till the current conjuncture. It will focus on the political upheavals since Covid-19, including the sad passing of the Party General Secretary in July this year. The talk will also focus on Vietnam’s likely economic trajectory in the China plus context and its aspiration to be a developed country in its centennial, 2047.

Organised to commemorate the centenary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s entry into the library and information science profession in India in 1924. Dr. Ranganathan pioneered the development of tools and techniques for organising knowledge throughout his career as a Library Scientist in the last century. Today, AI is revolutionizing the way knowledge is organized and managed by automating the tasks of content classification and categorization. This Summit is an attempt to explore the emerging AI opportunities for better management of and access to the knowledge across all
spectrums of the academia and the industry.
