The Integrated Management Plan for Hampi World Heritage Site has been the "˜atelier' for developing an integrated system of management practices for complex living heritage sites in India. The endeavour was to integrate practices with existing frameworks to ensure inclusive conservation and to allow present generations to enjoy the site. Heritage was understood from interdisciplinary perspectives and indigenous knowledge systems recognized as integral to the site's value
