Discussions
Venue
Annexe Lecture Room II, IIC Annexe

This symposium foregrounds the visible rise in Indian embroideries being expressed as art in recent years, highlighting the practices of master craftspeople, designers and artists who have pushed creative boundaries of traditional forms of surface embellishment. Over two panel discussions, makers will share their experiences from their journeys, discussing the varied ways in which conventional uses of such patterning on fabrics for apparel and home furnishings are transforming into a means of artistic exploration

As part of this seminar, there will be an exhibition in the Annexe Art Gallery on 4 & 5 October 2024
