Venue: Main Dining Hall

Dear Member,

Festivals and food go hand in hand, and so for this year’s celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, we bring you the unique and fabled cuisine of the Bhonsles of Thanjavur. This small diaspora, known for their immense contribution in fostering the arts, music and literature, brought in their own cuisine in a fashion so subtle that it permeated the atmosphere, creating a unique tradition in the region. Dishes such as poli, pitla, rasa vaangi and daangar were introduced to Thanjavur by Bhonsles whose royal kitchen prepared many delectable delicacies.

The Royal Cuisine from the Kitchen of the Bhonsles of Thanjavur is specially curated by Smt. Hema Devare and Shri Suhas Borker, members of the Maharashtra Sanskritik ani Rannaniti Adhyayan Samiti, the former Executive Chef to the President of India, Machindra Kasture, and IIC Executive Chef Vijay Thukral.

Interested Members are requested to make an advance booking with the Dining Hall (011-24609369,24609378, 24609377,24609472 or WhatsApp at 9968255504).
