A National Geographic film

Deep in the Andean mountains lays a mysterious ruin named Machu Picchu. For 400 years it sat abandoned on its misty cliff, the quintessential lost city in the jungle. Rediscovered in 1911, it contained no written records or carvings, nothing that could shed light on its history. For a century since, it has defied the endless scores of visitors and scientists who attempted to understand its purpose. Who were the mysterious people who built it and why did they build it here? Today an international team of archaeologists, engineers and scientists are finally piecing together the clues. Together they are discovering astonishing new burials, revealing the intricacies of its ingenious engineering and finally decoding the secrets of Machu Picchu.

Human, All Too Human was a BBC television documentary that originally aired in 1999. Taking its title from Nietzsche’s book of aphorisms Human, All Too Human: A Book for Free Spirits, the three-part series covers the lives and work of Friedrich Nietzsche, Martin Heidegger and Jean-Paul Sartre. Although biographies, the overall theme was an exploration of the philosophy of Existentialism, as developed by these radical European thinkers.

Director: Louise Wardle

Sartre: The Road to Freedom investigates the life and works of French philosopher of Jean-Paul Sartre, a key figure in the philosophy of existentialism. Sartre’s philosophy centred around an exploration of what it means to be free, the relationship between consciousness and unconsciousness, and the belief that it was up to individual human beings to give meaning and purpose to their lives.

Sartre: The Road to Freedom portrays some of the central concepts of Sartre’s philosophy and paints a picture of what the philosopher’s life was like. It is one of the rare documentaries that offers an English-speaking audience a closer look into his life, featuring interviews with de Beauvoir herself.

Dawat-e-Awadh

Dawat-e-Awadh
Start Date
10 March 2022, 12:00 am

In Awadh, the best foods were rich and royal cooks took special pride not only in the taste and texture of their creations, but in their ability to astound and amaze their patrons. Even though these culinary extravagances have gone the way of the Awadhi court itself, the spirit of that extravagance, the civility, graciousness and much of that remarkable cuisine still remain. This weekend, treat yourself to a taste of that gracious age with some authentic dishes prepared by the IIC Kitchens. IIC will be serving the special menu from 11th -13th March 2022. These items shall be served in addition to the regular take away/dine in menu.
