The coup in Myanmar took many by surprise though some of its closer neighbourhood were expecting it. The unique Civil-military power-sharing arrangement has come unstuck and infantile democracy has derailed. Where does it leave India’s Act East, Indo-Pacific, and Neighbourhood First policies. Is China to become the main beneficiary of the military rule?

How much are Indian farmers supported? Findings from an ICRIER-OECD Study

The talk will focus on the stepwise calculations of support provided to farmers.

Organised in collaboration with Cervantes Institute, New Delhi, a tribute to well-known Spanish actress, Ángela Molina. One of the most outstanding actresses in Spanish cinema with a career spanning over four decades and an extensive filmography of almost a hundred films, Ángela Molina rose to international prominence in Luis Buñuel’s That Obscure Object of Desire (1977). In the early 1970s, Sixto Rodriguez was a Detroit folksinger who had a short-lived recording career with only two well received but non-selling albums. Long rumoured there to be dead by suicide, a few fans in the 1990s decided to seek out the truth of their hero's fate. What follows is a bizarrely heartening story in which they found far more in their quest than they ever hoped, while a Detroit construction labourer discovered that his lost artistic dreams came true after all.
