Dear Member,
 
Sub: Notice for the 62nd Annual General Body Meeting
 
1.    The 62nd Annual General Body Meeting of the India International Centre will be held at 5.30 pm in the Auditorium on Saturday the 31st March 2018 to transact the following business:-
 
a)    Confirmation of the Minutes of the 61st AGM as earlier circulated.
b)    Adoption of the Director’s Annual Report for 2017-18.
c)    Adoption of the Audit Report and Annual Statement of Accounts for the Financial Year 2016-17 as certified by the Auditors.
d)    Adoption of the Revised Estimates for 2017-18 and Budget Estimates for 2018-19.
e)    Any other matter with the permission of the Chair.
 
2.    The Annual Report will be available on the IIC website.  The Audit Report, Revised Estimates and Budget Estimates will be sent to the members email account, whose email id is registered with us.  Members are requested to please update their emails with the Membership Department at the earliest.  A few copies of the Report will also be placed in the IIC Library for perusal of Members.

3.    The printed reports will be made available at the venue for Members who are attending the Annual General Body Meeting on the day of the meeting.

4.    Members who wish to raise any matter for the consideration under para 1 (e) may kindly send a brief note on the subject so as to reach the undersigned latest by Wednesday the 28th February, 2018.

5.    In case there is lack of quorum for the AGM by 5.30 pm on Saturday, the 31st March 2018, the meeting will be adjourned for half an hour.  The adjourned General Body meeting would then be held at 6 pm on the same day, at the same place, to transact the business listed in para 1 above.

6.    We request you to please make it convenient to attend the Annual General Body Meeting.

Members of IIC are requested to attend the same.
 
Suggestions are welcome from Members which may reach to the undersigned by February 15, 2018 at secretary.iic@nic.in.

An Open House meeting will be held on Saturday, 24th February, 2018 in the Main Dining Hall of the Centre at 4.00 pm under the Chairmanship of Shri L.K. Joshi, Chairman, House Committee.
 
The House Committee deals with the matters relating to functioning of Hostel, Food and Catering services, the upkeep and maintenance and the general ambience of the Centre.  The suggestions for the House Committee should be restricted to the overall improvements rather than individual issues, and may be sent to the undersigned at secretary.iic@nic.in  by 15th February, 2018
 
Preceding  the meeting, tea will be served between 3.30pm  and  4pm.

Annual Subscription 2018

The Board of Trustees in its 257th meeting held on 15 December 2017, has approved a marginal increase in the Annual Subscription Fee for all categories of Membership w.e.f. 1 April 2018.
 
All Members are requested to pay Annual Subscription for the year 2018-2019 accordingly, latest by 31 May 2018.
 
Do write your Membership number and Annual Subscription for the year 2018-2019 on the back of the cheque. In case you choose to deposit cash or make an electronic/online payment, please inform the Accounts Department that the amount deposited is towards the Annual Subscription for the year 2018-2019.
 
An extract of Rule 9 of the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations is given below for information:
 
‘Subscriptions towards Membership are payable in advance for each financial year and shall be due for payment on the 1st April of each year. It shall be the responsibility of the Members to ensure due and timely payment of subscriptions.’
 
Rule 26 (f) of the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations further stipulates as:
 
‘The name of any Member, individual or institutional, who is liable to pay subscription by 1st April of each year but whose subscription falls in arrears beyond 31st May shall be removed from the Roll of Members of the Centre…’
 
Any request to extend the date or waive penalty to restore Membership would not be entertained.

India International Centre is an Institution of repute, established over 50 years back to promote art and culture Nationally and Internationally, situated at Lodhi Estate, New Delhi.

We immediately require Head of Maintenance. Candidate should essentially hold Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 20 years of post-qualification experience of handling engineering functions in any large-sized hotel or club etc. out of which at least 10 years as Head of Department.

Candidates, age around 55 years, should be conversant with techno-commercial evaluation of machinery and material.

He will be responsible for maintenance of Electrical, Air-conditioning and Mechanical installations apart from small civil constructions and renovations of building; budgeting of all capital expenditure and repair and Maintenance; ensuring fire safety compliance and liaison with governmental agencies, Kitchen equipment such as Chiller Rooms, Ovens, Sound Systems.

Incumbent shall be the part of Senior Management Team and should be self-motivator with good leadership skills and team building capabilities.

Subscription notice 2017-18

As per Rule 9 of the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of the IIC, it is the responsibility of the Members to ensure due and timely payment of subscription.

Members were required to pay their Annual Subscription by 31st May 2017. In case Members have not paid the Annual Subscription, they are requested to pay the same, latest by 31st July 2017.

The names of Members whose subscription falls in arrears shall be suspended from the rolls and shall be liable for the prescribed penalty in order to restore the membership.

CIRCULAR
 
          We are pleased to inform  the Members that Shri Shyam Saran has kindly accepted the invitation of  the  Board  of  Trustees  to  become  a  Life Trustee  on  the  Board.
 
2.       Shri Shyam Saran is a career diplomat born on September 4, 1946. Since joining the Indian Foreign Service in 1970, he has served in several capitals of the world including Beijing, Tokyo and Geneva. He has been India's Ambassador to Myanmar, Indonesia and Nepal and High Commissioner to Mauritius. After a career spanning 34 years in the Indian Foreign Service, Shri Shyam Saran was appointed India's Foreign Secretary in 2004 and held that position till his retirement from service in September 2006. Subsequent to his retirement, he was appointed Prime Minister's Special Envoy for lndo-US civil nuclear issues and later as Special Envoy and Chief Negotiator on Climate Change.
 
3.       During his last two assignments, Shri Shyam Saran served as Prime Minister’s personal representative or "Sherpa" at the Gleneagles and St. Petersburg G8+G5 summits and was present at the Toyako and L'Aquila Summits as an Advisor on Climate Change issues. He also attended the Pittsburg G-20 summit as a member of the Indian delegation.
 
4.       Shri Shyam Saran was Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board under the National Security Council. He served as Chairman, Research and Information System for Developing Countries, which is an autonomous think tank specializing in studies on economic and trade related issues. He speaks and writes regularly on a variety of subjects.
 
          On January 26, 2011, Shri Shyam Saran was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the President of India for his contribution to Civil Service. The Padma Bhushan is the third highest National Award in the Country. Shri Saran holds a post-Graduate degree in Economics. He speaks Hindi, English and Chinese and is conversant in French.
